Mother Ruby Doe Williams was born November 28, 1935 to Deacon Duncan A. Doe and Mother Ada A. Doe. Her parents were devout Baptists until 1950, when her father was saved in the Church of God in Christ, and her mother received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1953. She has six sisters, one of whom is still alive, Pastor Alberta Hinton, of Spencerport, New York; three brothers, one of whom is still alive, Elder Benjamin Doe, Sanford.
Mother Ruby Doe Williams is a graduate of Crooms High School, Sanford, FL. She attended Florida A & M University, Tallahassee, FL; Stetson University, Deland, FL and Rollins College, Winter Park, FL.
Mother Ruby Doe Williams married Deacon Dorris Houston Williams, June 26, 1960. To this union was born three sons and two daughters: Elder Gregory Bryant Williams, whose wife is Lisha Williams, an evangelist missionary, and whose children are Ebony, Sarah, and twins, Joshua and Caleb Williams; Jennifer Lynn Williams, Holy Trinity COGIC financial secretary, and; Elder Jeffery Paul Williams, presently her pastor, whose wife is Jacqueline Williams, an evangelist missionary, and whose children are Jeffery, Jr., Jocelyn Cecelia, and Janisha Christina Williams; James Philip Williams, Phyllis Renee Williams, whose children are Mandisa Amaris and Jared Isaiah Williams-Greene.
Mother Ruby Doe Williams was a teacher of English and Reading Resource Teacher, Seminole and Orange County school systems; Tutor in English, Reading, Preparation for ACT, SAT exams.
She was saved as a child of nine in the Baptist Church, received the baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1968, in Sanford, where she served as secretary, missionary, choir president, president and teacher of Bible Band, Sunday School teacher, and in whatever other positions that had need of her service. She worked with District Missionaries Mother G. M. Sconiers and Mother L. B. Daugherty as their financial secretary of the Women’s Department on the Altamonte Springs District. Her children have been brought up in the church under the leadership of Elder Lewis Hart, Elder James Hall, Elder Alto Sconiers, her mother and all of the saints who took a personal interest in the well-being of their young people (not only her children but the children of other members of their family and community). Her husband, Deacon Williams, was saved in 1968, also, and has served as Trustee Chairman of Holy Trinity COGIC, Sanford, and as Choir President, of the Altamonte Springs and the Emmanuel Districts, as well as the local church.
Having served as the District Missionary of the Emmanuel District for over ten years, she was appointed supervisor of Western Florida COGIC by Bishop Sheppard in 1998. Bishop Bell affirmed Bishop Sheppard’s appointment by recommending her to Mother Rivers in 1999. Since her installation in October of year 2000, she has supported the leadership of the Western Florida jurisdictional prelates. “We are in the process of organizing and edifying the Women’s Department of Western Florida for growth and unity under the leadership of our present bishop, Bishop Harvey Bryan. By attending leadership conferences, conventions, and convocations, as well as reading inspiring literature, I encourage the women of Western Florida to follow the doctrine of the church as it points us to Christ.”
